Publishers

The Canadian Book Review Annual has been receiving your books for the past 35 years.  We have now launched the electronic version of CBRA, called CBRAonline. The same great reviews of your books will be published, but now in electronic format. Your books will still be reviewed by qualified reviewers; all the publishers’ data and information will be listed.

Our mandate has always been to review all new Canadian-authored titles. Over 40,000 reviews will eventually be available on CBRA and we will be adding reviews of 150 new books every month.  

We request that you send your bibliographic data in electronic format. By sending us your catalogues for each cycle in spreadsheet form (Excel, Access, GoogleDocs, etc.) we can get your books out to our reviewers quickly and ensure that all of your books are reviewed.

Submission Guidelines

It is our goal to review all books that qualify. Canadian publishers are invited to submit new books upon publication. For books to qualify for review in CBRAonline they must:

• be scholarly, reference, trade, children’s, or young-adult book and a first or revised edition
• be published in Canada
• have a copyright date no older than 2008
• have an author/editor who is either Canadian or who resides in Canada

We do not review

• chapbooks, adult mass-market paperbacks, textbooks, audio books, e-books, manuals, or self-published works
• galleys, advance reading copies, or reprints
• paperback editions of hardcover books we have already reviewed
• Canadian editions of foreign titles
• foreign-published books written by Canadians.
